Swish Building Products, a subsidiary of Epwin, has obtained an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its cellular PVC products—a first for British manufacturers in this segment, according to the company. The EPD certification provides independent verification of the environmental impact across the product lifecycle, covering raw material extraction through to end-of-life disposal.

Cellular PVC remains a widely specified material in UK window and door manufacturing, valued for its durability, weather resistance, and low maintenance requirements. The EPD allows specifiers and contractors to benchmark Swish's environmental performance against comparable products and supports compliance with building standards that increasingly demand transparent sustainability data.

For procurement teams and housebuilders, the certification addresses growing client demand for documented environmental credentials. It enables informed material selection without relying solely on manufacturer claims. Competitors in the cellular PVC sector have not yet publicly announced equivalent EPD certifications for the UK market, though the standard is established across European manufacturers.
