The tilt-and-turn hardware is the most widely used window hardware system in Central Europe. By operating the handle in different positions (0°, 90°, 180°), the sash can be locked, opened in tilt mode, or fully swung open. The system consists of corner connectors, espagnolette rods, locking pins, and a tilt pivot at the top of the sash. Modern tilt-and-turn hardware offers additional features such as restricted opening for ventilation, child safety locks, and burglar-resistant mushroom-head locking pins. Load classes and test requirements are regulated in EN 13126. Careful adjustment after installation ensures consistently uniform compression force over time.
